Events are displayed from the pre-canned "Alerts" page.  Alerts are added from the "Admin>>Pages>>Alerts List" page. 

• Each alert is date driven;  they display only on the dates within their Start Date and End Date.  This allows you to setup alerts before you wish them to display. 
• Information doesn't get stale because it stops displaying after the end date.
